Minnesota Twins
Today's post will take a break from the war in Iraq, and is dedicated to the Minnesota Twins, the 2006 American League Central Division Champions. The Twins overcame great odds, and went from being down 12 games to winning the division. I think the Twins have an excellent chance to win the World Series this year.
In addition, Twins catcher Joe Mauer (a Minnesota native), became the first ever catcher to win the American League Batting Title.

It's ok to divert from the war effort and take delight in the successes of the Twins--especially since there have been so few over the years.
But, back to the war--we have to remember that if we aren't willing to have our Army engage terrorists in the streets of Baghdad, we need to be ready for our Police and Firefighters to HAVE to engage them in the streets of our cities here in the US.
Terrorism isn't going to go away if we leave Iraq. In fact, they will follow us here. We have no choice but to take them on in the Mid-East because we cannot afford to take them on here stateside.
And, if that is a political opinion in someone's eyes, so be it. To me, it's common sense.

Unfortunately, they lost today, but they still have more gametime.
