Pro Deo Et Patria- An Army Chaplain

I am a chaplain in the US Army, serving in Iraq. I'm keeping a blog to share my thoughts and experiences while deployed. They are my thoughts and they don't necessarily reflect the opinions of the US Army! :)

Quote of the Day

General George Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said this:

"I think one of the reasons you keep hearing about Iran is because we keep finding their stuff in Iraq."

He is right on.

I can not express to you how happy I am that the media is finally starting to broadcast this fact to the general public!!!!! We know those EFPs that blast through our Abrams' armor (and we can't stop) are made in Iran. We even have the machine shop locations pinpointed!! We know that many of the Shiite death squads are receiving trainning from Iran. We know that SCIRIraq is obviously backed by Iran. We know the Badr Birgades are. I'm not giving any links here (unlike when I usually do when I comment) because this information is all open-source that people only need to look for. A few places I would recommend to start for people to look would be the UK's The Telegraph; ABC has some things on the EFPs. Other sources have information on the Iranian trainning of the Shiite militias. I'm glad we went after those five members of the Quods Force in Irbil. We need to step stuff like that up. We need to be relentless! If we do that, we could stem (somewhat, not much) the EFP attacks. We need to go further though, in my opinion. We need to hit the machine shops in western Iran where they make these things. We need to take out the people and ships ferrying them across the Shaat-al Arab. We need to take our power to the source and destroy it.
